Dive into the digital archives of our local history and arts organizations and re-create a favorite, hilarious, or iconic image! You may have seen similar “challenges” like this during these weeks of staying at home? We’ve teamed with our friends at the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center and the Montclair Public Library for this challenge.
Here’s how you do it:
select an image you like
use your imagination and whatever you can find at home to re-create it
snap a picture and create a side-by-side composite with the original image (or add both the original and your creation to the same post)
post it on social media using the tag #MontclairDejaVu —and tag us, too! @montclairhistorycenter, or, if you find an image on one of our partner’s sites, tag them!
For inspiration, the Montclair History Center has posted a gallery of fun images right in this blog, and pasted below are links to the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center and the Montclair Public Library where you may find other images that tickle your fancy.
Please join us in the fun! Don’t forget #MontclairDejaVu @montclairhistorycenter
Other than the present day photograph of the Edgemont Memorial, the rest of these photos are from the Montclair Public Library Local History Collection:
