Continuing our “Back to School” theme, Masiel Rodriquez-Vars joins us to discuss more recent history of the Montclair Public Schools, specifically the creation of the district’s magnet school system. She will lead a viewing and discussion of her 2009 documentary, Our Schools, Our Town, about the history of themagnet school system in Montclair.

Masiel Rodriquez-Vars is the Executive Director of the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence. The documentary project was completed earlier in her career, as an active public school parent. The project was inspired by conversations with other parents during Montclair PTA Council meetings.
