Before Israel Crane established the Newark Pompton Turnpike (today’s Bloomfield Avenue), people ventured from Newark to the Caldwells along a meandering road known as “the Old Road.” In this walking tour we’ll trace their steps along the Old Road (present day Glen-Ridge Avenue, Church Street, and Valley Road) talking about the history of Montclair. Join us for our first walking tour since COVID shut us down!
