History Happy Hour: The Mid 1800s

Virtual Event.

The Immigrants Arrive and Beer Takes Center Stage

Summer Friday's are a time to kick back, so we’re hosting a series of History Happy Hours on five Fridays this summer. The Crane House & Historic YWCA spans over 150 years, from the early beginnings of America in 1796 to the groovy styles of the 1960s. Each week, we’ll talk about a different time period of the house while tasting— and making — the historic offerings of the time. Recipes and an ingredient list will be provided to participants ahead of time so that everyone can join in at home! (Non-alcoholic recipes will also be provided so that even the smallest viewer can participate!) Sign up for one or all!

Week Three: The Immigrants Arrive: Beer and Soda (with a splash of champagne)

$10/program, Montclair History Center Members are free! Purchase your ticket using the link above.

Week Four: What’s This Temperance Movement?: Bloody Mary, Daiquiri, Orange Julius, and Shirley Temple, July 31

Week Five: Mad Men: Whiskey, Arnold, and Roy, August 7
