Annual Herb and Heirloom Vegetable Sale

  • Crane House & Historic YWCA 110 Orange Road Montclair, NJ, 07042 United States (map)

Thank you so very much for participating in our herb and heirloom veggie sale this spring. The response has been remarkable, unbelievable, and at the same time humbling. We can't tell you how much we appreciate your support and kind words during this difficult time.

To help us prepare your orders for pick up or delivery, we have asked the farmers if they can deliver the plants earlier than we had originally planned. In most cases, they can. In some cases, though, we need to wait to take delivery until mid-next week to ensure the plants are healthy, happy, and ready to leave the security of the nursery.

Beginning this weekend and through next week, once we have all the plants needed to complete your order, you will receive either a phone call or text letting you know when your order is ready for pick-up or will be delivered.

During that call, we will:

  • Give you a timeframe for your pick up or delivery that works for you and stays within our customer limit to maintain social distance. If you are picking up your order, you will be given an order number. Please put that number on your dashboard, so we can pull your order as you drive-up. We are also going to ask you to open your own trunk or car door. If you have requested delivery, we’ll let you know approximately when your order will be deliverered.

  • Let you know if we had to substitute anything in your order or if a plant was not sent to us.

  • Tell you the total cost and request payment. We prefer Venmo or credit cards  as they are contact-less.

Please be patient as we work through this new system. Our goal is to have all the plants in your hands by Mother’s Day.

Important note from our farmers: Please do not plant the annual herbs or vegetables before May 15. If you can resist, May 22 is even better.  While our winter was mild, this spring has been cold. Protect your tender plants, particularly on the cool nights. You -- and your plants -- will be much happier in the long run.
