Official town records contain scant reference to the contributions of women in the colonial period, but other archival sources show that colonial women — young or old, well-educated or barely literate, slave or free — found ways to make their way and contribute to the development of early Newark. This program is presented by Timothy J. Crist, a Montclair resident and President of the Newark History Society. Suggested donation: $5/person. Crane House and Historic YWCA, 110 Orange Road, Montclair in the Founder’s Room.
