Junior Historians: Discovering 20th Century America through Primary and Secondary Sources
The Great Migration to the Civil Rights Movement
This 8-week homeschool program focuses on key components of research-based history. It includes take-home assignments and culminates in student presentations on the last day of class. Each class features lecture, activities in the museums and archives, and a research/discussion component. Students should have a basic understanding of events and movements from 1900 to 1965 prior to the course. Classes are held on Fridays, from 10 am to 12 pm. Dates are January 13, 20, and 27, February 10, 17, and 24, and March 10 and 17. Cost is $150 per student for the entire 8-week series. Recommended for ages 11-16, maximum class size of 15.
